French Foreign Legion Veterans Belt Buckle Damaged

an interesting item. heavy metal belt buckle for a former member, probably, of the famous military organisation of France. approx 3.6" by 2.5". It is missing its belt holding metal bit on the reverse. sold as is but could possibly be repaired.
