British Army Machine Gunners Sleeve Qualification Badge

a well used and fairly old hard metal badge on a strange backing plate. as found. badge approx 1.75" by 1.5" with lug fittings on the reverse. WW1 pattern but had continued use. not sure exactly when it was replaced.
